One of the very first zero sum games (everybody wins, and stays in the game to the end, with the winner just winning most, worked out at the end). This means more fun all round. (Psychologically more PC to!). No dice, no luck except what others choose to play without knowing what you hold.

Build, develop, calculate cash vs capital, do simple sums, buy shares, plan ahead with a handful of city blocks you hold ready to develop into small or big hotel chains, for long term gain or short term cash flow; take it seriously or just play along: You can have fun either way. 6-99 ages, I was amazed when I discovered this: Fast paced, exciting (do you get developements around the city blocks you already hold, do you draw more in which areas…), get all the ages around a table and everyone has fun all the way to the end.

Gotta be a recommendation for an all time top classic, and beats monopoly hands down on any criteria you please.

We visited an aunt who had an older version of this game which her family had enjoyed for years. It is quite like Monolopy in that you have to set up hotel chains but then you can also buy shares, merge or take over other chains so there is a stock market element to it as well. It is also hard to know who has won until right at the end when all the shares and cash you own are counted! We were delighted to find it on Amazon…Suits bright 10 years old to adult.
